Who is Jesus?
- Jesus is God.
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something
to be grasped, Philippians 2:6
- Jesus is Human.
but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in
human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself
and became obedient to death– even death on a cross! Philippians 2:7-8
Not only is Jesus God, but He is human and took on the role of a SERVANT.
- Jesus is Lord over all.
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is
above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven
and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ
is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
- Jesus is the Creator of all things.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. Colossians 1:15-16
- Jesus is the Glue that Holds everything together.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17
- Jesus is the Head of the Church.
And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the
firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the
supremacy. Colossians 1:18
- Jesus is the Way to Peace.
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him
to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by
making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:19-20
