Well it’s that time of year again when we all start being a little more thankful because of the focus on Thanksgiving Day. As you list out all the blessings that you are thankful for, I want you to look with me at the Bible in the book of Philemon chapter 1 verses 4-7. It says, “4. I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers, 5. Because I hear of your love and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints; 6. And I pray that the fellowship of your faith may become effective through the knowledge of every good thing which is in you for Christ’s sake. 7. For I have come to have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.”
Do you know anyone who is like this? Do you know anyone who refreshes your life when your around them? Are you this person that people give thanks for, because you are faithful to God and to His people? What kind of legacy are you leaving for others? Will you be remembered as one who brought joy and comfort to others? Would the Pastor that conducts your funeral service be able to preach this passage about you and do so with a clean conscience? We should all have someone in our lives that we can say lives this way and we should all live this way so others will have someone to look up too. As you celebrate Thanksgiving Day this year, remember to thank God for those people in your life that refresh you and ask God to help you to become (if your not already) this type of person as well. So be thankful and faithful as you serve Jesus Christ our King.
In Christ Service,
