Harsh Words

Welcome back to the Encouragement Challenge. Today we are going to talk about what The Bible says about harsh words/negative talk.

Proverbs 15:1–“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

Ephesians 4:29 — “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

James 1:19-20 — “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”

Proverbs 12 : 18 — “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”

James 1:19 — “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,”

Hebrews 12:14 — “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”

Today, be kind and full of encouraging words instead of harsh words. Show the world that you are a Child of God–full of His love, forgiveness and joy!

Be a blessing to others,
~M
