1-Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Notes verse 1 — This verse is a reminder to everyone that Jesus Christ did raise from the dead and is alive and well with God the Father in Heaven. It also symbolizes that when we as sinners accept Jesus as Lord of our lives we have become new. Meaning we are no longer dead in sin but alive in Christ. When we became truly alive with Christ, He gave us new desires inside us. Basically allowing us to focus no longer on setting up for ourselves a life on earth that is here one day and gone the next. He gave us a spirit to want to focus/set our hearts on things above because we are now His and we are alive.
