Colossians 3:7

7-You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.

Notes verse 7 — The day one confesses Jesus as Lord is the day you are given the power to change. No longer are you completely enslaved by sin. Your old way of life can now be left in the past as you embrace Christ and His teachings. How you live is now even more evidence of the decision you did or did not make in choosing Christ as your Savior.

A Prayer about Expectations

Join me as I pray:

Lord, this world has so many expectations of me, but today I will not seek to meet the world’s expectations. I will do my best to meet Your expectations. I will make You my ultimate priority, Lord, by serving You, by praising You, by loving You, by obeying You, and by showing others I love You! Help me be a living testimony for You. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Ephesians 5:1 reminds us: “Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children.”

Be a light for Christ,

Problem Solving

Welcome back readers. I would like to apologize for not writing lately. I will try to do better. Today we are going to talk about problem solving. Many of deal with this on a daily (maybe even hourly) basis. How do you respond when a problem comes your way?

The Bible reminds us:

Psalm 34:19 “People who do what is right may have problems, but The Lord will solve them all.”

Deuteronomy 4:30-31 “When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, you will return to the Lord your God in later days and obey Him. He will not leave you, destroy you, or forget the covenant with your fathers that He swore to them by oath, because the Lord your God is a compassionate God.”

John 16:33 “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

We need to do what is right. This includes facing our problems and following God’s will for our lives! The quicker you solve your problems, the quicker you can share with others how God helped you overcome them.

Be a blessing,

What Are You Searching For?

Welcome back!! What are you searching for? Wealth? Power? Beauty? Fame? Happiness? Love?

Most people think they are searching for all the above. However, what we are really looking for is genuine contentment. You don’t need a bunch of material possessions to find the happiness you are searching for. The true search for contentment is an internal quest–an exploration of your heart, mind and soul. Find the peace and love you seek from your relationship with Christ not things of this world.

The Bible reminds us:

Psalm 29:11 “The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.”

1 Timothy 6:6-8

“Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.”

John 1:9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will come in and go out an find pasture.”

What are you looking for? Seek God and find it!!

Who is First in Your Life?

Welcome back Readers! I hope you had a great weekend!

The Bible tells us in Exodus 20:3, “Do not have other gods besides Me.” What kind of relationship do you have with God? Remember this, you will always have some type of relationship with God–one that seeks to honor Him or one that does not. Are you willing to place God first in your life–making Him your number one priority? God is always available. He is ready to forgive. He is waiting to hear from you. Now, it’s up to you.

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.”

Philippians 1:9
“And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment.”

Invite God to reign over every corner of your heart,

Stand Up

Welcome back readers! Happy Friday! Does your actions reflect your beliefs? Not just your words, but does your actions? We must match our words with our deeds. The way we live is far more compelling to others than what we say. Like it or not, your life is a reflection of your creed. If that statement bothers you, than don’t just talk about changing–make those changes now. Live the life God intends you to. Walk the walk!

The Bible reminds us:

1 Peter 1:8-9 “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in hime and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”

1 John 3:24 “The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.”

Have a great weekend.

Welcome back readers! I was cleaning out my Bible yesterday. I came across something that I wanted to share with you. What do you understand it takes for a person to go to Heaven? Consider how the Bible answers this question. It is a matter of FAITH.

F is for Forgiveness

We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God’s forgiveness.

Ephesians 1:7a “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins”

A is for Available

Forgiveness is available. It is Available for all. But not automatic.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”

I is for Impossible

It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven. Because of who He is: God is loving and just. His judgement is against sin. Because of who we are: Every person is a sinner.

James 2:13a “because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful”

Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

T is for Turn

Turn means repent. Turn from something–sin and self. Turn to Someone; trust Christ!

Luke 13:3b “But unless you repent, you too will all perish”

Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

H is for Heaven

Heaven is eternal life.

John 10:10b “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

John 14:3 “When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

Take the step of faith described described by another meaning of FAITH:

Do You Believe in Miracles?

Welcome back readers!! Happy Wednesday. Do you believe in miracles? If you just look around, then you will see a world full of God’s miracles? A few years ago, a doctor told me that I should not have been able to have children. We are blessed to have two beautiful miracle babies. God is so good and faithful. Some other miracles are lives being transformed by God’s grace and love, the beautiful sunrise, the world renewing itself every morning, the healing of sicknesses, and so many more things.

Each day, make a point to look at God’s handiwork. Seize the opportunity to see God’s hand at work. His miracles come in all shapes and sizes. Keep your eyes and heart open.

Let’s see what the Bible has to say:

Psalm 77:14
“You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.”

Mark 10:27
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.'”

Luke 1:37
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Look for miracles to encourage your faith. Share the miracles you have experienced with family and friends. Let’s remind the world that GOD IS REAL and He still preforms miracles!

Be a blessing,

Are You Distracted?

Welcome back readers!! I hope you are having a good week. Have you ever had one of those days where everything seemed to go wrong?? I’ve had a lot of those. We all have had days where the computer crashes, homework seems to disappear, you are stuck in traffic, the person in front of you at Wal-Mart has 50 items and wants to price check them all, I could go on and on. We often find ourselves distracted by these minor frustrations, instead of taking a deep breath and focusing our thoughts upward. However, there are times when we are really struggling in a mighty way. Even through these times, we are NOT struggling alone. God is there. He is faithful and full of patience and love for us. We just need to reach out to Him and not be distracted by problems. Don’t ever get too busy for God. Always find time to spend with Him. God is never too busy for you.

The Bible reminds us:

Proverbs 4:25
“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.”

Psalm 128:1
“How happy is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways!”

John 8:12
“Then Jesus spoke to them again: ‘I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life’.”

Be a blessing to others,

Light My Path

Hello Readers! Welcome back. I hope you enjoyed our little series on encouragement. Today, we are going to talk about one verse.

Psalm 119:105–“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

Have you ever went out for a walk after dark? Many neighborhoods have well light paths, but occasionally a light is burnt out and our path becomes dark. While the path is dark, we become afraid and can’t see very well.

Now, think of God’s Word, The Bible, as a light for our path (our life’s journey). When we stop focusing on God’s Word, our life becomes dark. God’s Word is the light that keeps us focused on what truly matters. How is your path right now? Is it dark or is it filled with light from God’s Word?

Have a blessed day.
