Luke 4:9-13

9-And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here; 10-for it is written,‘He will command His angels concerning You to guard You,’ 11-and,‘On their hands they will bear You up,So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’” 12-And Jesus answered and said to him, “It is said, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” 13-When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.

Notes–Luke 4:9-13_____Now we see the devil pulling out all the stops. The devil himself was quoting Scripture to Jesus. Really, this is the Son Of God and the devil actually thought that he could quote Scripture at Jesus to get Him to stray from the Truth which is the Word of God. The devil wants us to take the Word of God and misuse it as much as possible. This is done every time we try and make The Word of God fit our agenda instead of Gods agenda. Jesus fired back at the devil with the Pure Truth, not twisted. Finally we see that the devil left Jesus until an opportune time. The devil knew he was getting no where and decided to move on until he could try and sneak in some other way. That is exactly how the devil works in our lives as well. The question is are we falling into temptation or following Jesus and the leading of the Holy Spirit? Spend some time reflecting on what you are really following. Be honest with yourself and repent and commit to follow God, not a god you make up to fit your agenda, but the God. May God bless you as you spend time with Him today and everyday.
