You are Forgiven

Welcome back to the Encouragement Challenge Week 3! We are talking about forgiveness this week. Today, we are going to focus on God’s forgiveness towards us. We are forgiven! You are forgiven!! No matter what you have done…you are forgiven! All you have to do is ask God to forgive you! He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins!

Here are a just few scriptures about God’s forgiveness:

Psalm 32:5 “Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.”

Matthew 26:28 “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

Acts 2:38 “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'”

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Repent (turn away from) your sins and be forgiven. God has forgiven you…so now forgive yourself. We all fail and need forgiveness. Allow God to forgive you. Then, forgive yourself.

Be a blessing to others,

The Effect of Sin

The Effects of Sin

The 1st Effect of Sin is Sin Rules over you.

Psalm 119:133 — Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.

God knows how powerful sin is, and that is why He tells us to not fall into sin. God always provides a way out, so sin doesn’t have to rule over you.

1 Corinthians 10:13 — No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

The 2nd Effect of Sin is Sin Holds you.

Proverbs 5:22 — The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast.

The 3rd Effect of Sin is Sin makes you a Slave.

John 8:34-36 — Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

2 Peter 2:19 — They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.

You can be set free from the sins that control you. You don’t have to be a slave anymore.

Romans 6:22 — But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

The 4th Effect of Sin is Sin Entangles you.

Hebrews 12:1 — Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

The 5th Effect of Sin is Sin is Pleasurable.

Hebrews 11:25 — He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.

The 6th Effect of Sin is Sin is Desirable.

James 1:13-15 — When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

The 7th Effect of Sin is Sin Causes Death.
Romans 6:23 — For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You can be forgiven.

1 John 1:8-10 — If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
